Montgomery Junior High School

Mr. Heaton is currently in his 29th year of teaching music in public schools in Texas and will be starting his third year as the Band Director at Montgomery Junior High School. He received his Bachelor's degree in Music from Lamar University, in Beaumont, TX. While attending Lamar, Mr. Heaton studied Trombone with Dr. Wayne Dyess and Band Director Pedagogy/Conducting with Dr. Barry Johnson. Also during his time at LU, Mr. Heaton was a member of the Lamar Jazz Band "A" and the Lamar Pep Band. Mr. Heaton is a graduate of Aldine Senior High School and was a TMEA All-State Trombonist.
